POEM: GROANINGS OF A HEARTBROKEN SOUL

Tear drops on my cheeks, teardrops on the ground
I watched them sink in the ground as I reminisce
In a flash everything had become crystal clear
Yesterday I was holding a fistful of a very precious stone
Blindfolded, the precious stone slipped away
A pure slip of a soul, how could I have missed it?

You were all I ever dreamt of, full package all-in-one
You were all I ever prayed for, the apple of my eye
How could I have failed to notice that it was you?
I was busy collecting worthless rocks, yet I had already lost a precious stone!
The one beyond fortunes, priceless!
Measured by its ability to touch a soul
I imagined thy hands in flames, outstretched

Eyes on the road anticipating your return, but to no avail
Can you hear the sound of my voice, crying in the wilderness?
Thy touch consumed both my heart and soul
So this is how it shall be right?
I should just walk away from us right?
To argue, it is easier said than done!
I am still struggling until this hour
Our dreams vanished to nothingness
Tear drops on my cheeks, tear drops on the ground
I am watching them now sinking in the ground, as I close this verse!
