Can one be in four countries at the same time? Yes they can

Can one be in four countries at the same time? Yes they can. If one is at a quadripoint.

A quadripoint is a point on Earth where four distinct territories meet. And in Africa we have the Kazungula border.

Kazungula is a small border town in the Southern Province of Zambia, lying on the north bank of the Zambezi River about 70 kilometers west of Livingstone.

The Kazungula border is special because it is one of the few places in the world where several borders meet.

The borders of Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia all meet at this one point in the middle of the river and if one is on a boat cruise, they can find themselves in a “no man’s land,” where you either in no country or are in four countries at the same moment.

In Zimbabwe there is a Safari Lodge that overlooks the Zambezi River right where the Kazungula border is called lmbambala Lodge.

If you are adventurous why not go and have a look.

That is not all, Botswana and Zambia recently inaugurated a road and rail bridge linking the two countries and you can visit the two countries in one day if you like.
